I wanted to create a crucifixion picture that showed supernatural demonic forces at work behind the scenes. Historically, Jesus was beat so severely he wasn't recognizable as a man. He was stripped nude to humiliate him as he hung on the cross. *Hence one of the frantically flying Hitchcockian birds is shielding him with its wing. With that said, imagery like this is probably too METAL for most church crowds.
